Being a “little girl” mom, I was pretty nervous about having a baby boy. When we discovered that our third little one would indeed be our sweet Logan, we were incredibly excited, but hesitant as well. I had this little girl thing down! What in the world would I do with a little boy?! They are messy and go non-stop! That also meant starting over in terms of baby gear and clothes. Little did I know the amazing love I would experience for my Logan Richard.
As we prepared for our little man’s arrival, we were in the midst of moving. We had purchased a new home (the term new is used loosely here) and were using Logan’s room as storage. The new house had 3 bedrooms so the girls were sharing, putting the baby in the long narrow room. Our home was built in 1968 and pretty much orig-i-nal… Here is a shot of the nursery before we tackled it:
With his due date quickly approaching and my mother’s intuition that I wasn’t going to make it to said due date, I finally dove into the nursery. I had some hand me down items from my mom’s house, as well as some items I had been collecting for a few months and they all came together wonderfully.
My Aunt Regina makes growth charts for all of our kiddos… Here is Logans:
My husband is a hunter and I am obsessed with arrows, so I knew I wanted to do a deer theme. I mixed textures, fabrics, and unconventional decor (I love a good mounted deer head!) for the result of my favorite room in the house. The combination of red and plaid offers a current, yet timeless design that can grow right along with our little guy.
Always,
